I had a close good friend in high-school that did that back in 1973.
He cut-down a '57 4-door BelAir and made it into a two-door. It took him forever to get it done, but he eventually did. It looked completely stupid, but that wasn't really the point. He just wanted to see if he could do it.
It went to the crusher a couple of years later. He'd lost interest in it.
