When we lived in MA, the town administrator noted that the state of the economy is correlated to (and to some extent, predicted by) the tonnage of garbage collected at our small-town transfer station and taken to a 'sanitary landfill' for interment. ;) The citizens of our upper-middle class burg generate(d) less waste when times are tough; I think that's generally true. Lipstick cases don't weigh very much, so there you go. ;)By their trash shall ye know them.
