My concern is battery life. With guarantees of only 8 years or 100K miles, it's risky considering that replacing a battery is way more than replacing a gas engine.
A plug in hybrid might be an option. I'll have to see how the tax credits pan out since we really don't need any new cars and don't use more than a tank of gas a month unless we do a road trip.
