Actually, these pics are from Monday, August 1st, as we left Seattle to Seaside, OR.
Mt. St. Helens.....

Logging trucks are everywhere, apparently hauling loads to the Columbia River.

There must have been a million logs in the yard waiting to be put on ships.

Below is the Astoria-Megler bridge that spans the Columbia river between Washington State and Oregon, the longest continuous truss bridge in North America.

And finally, we got to Seaside, the end of the Louis and Clark trail!
It's a great little town with a population of about 7,000 that likely increases to over 20,000 during the summer. Being only an hour and a half from Portland, I'm sure the 70 degree temperatures when Portland is over 100 provides an incentive to visit.
As a beach, tourist town, it reminds me of a cross between Pacific Beach, CA and Coney Island. The huge difference from California were the high rise hotels right on the beach with killer views. It also has a very family vibe.
Dooger's is a good choice for a restaurant. The weather varies. It was cool, misting in the evening and completely over cast. The next day was sunny and warm in the low to mid 70s.

Oregon appears to have more Cannabis shops than liquor stores. They're everywhere!

Ah, one last eye candy shot, the Carousel. My wife says that you alwaysneeda little bling in life.
