One of the problems with buying bourbon these days is the number of heavily allocated labels. In the KC area, everything from the Buffalo Trace distillery is in short supply, a kind of "If you snooze, you lose!" thing. I could happily live with Col. E H Taylor bottles but they're only a fond memory these days. Elmer T. Lee and Eagle Rare are in the same boat.
Should you pass through Champaign, IL, stop by the Big Grove restaurant and ask for a pour of some Weller Special Reserve Full Strength. $15 for a 2 oz pour of some stunning whiskey.
