...but the climate here is very "volatile". We get whatever comes off the Lake from the North out of Canada, parts of whatever comes-in from the East Coast, out of the Mid-West "tornado alley", and up from the South--the Gulf storms (when they make it this far). But in the spring, winds from the North across all of that cold/frozen water can keep a bright, sunny day at 40F. OTOH, an October breeze across the still-warm Lake can keep you above 40F (and in a total fog-bank)--even if it tries to snow.
