A couple of posts over on Daily Kos are suggesting that Ukraine has already started a counter offensive to cut off the Russian BTGs in Izyum from their supply lines. If this is a real maneuver, only one Ukraine source has confirmed it as of yet. The Ukraine forces have a habit of not announcing their troop movements for at least five days and the Russians don't talk if they're getting their butts kicked.
One article is putting out an estimate that 20-25% of the Russian army is in Izyum so if the rumored attack is for real, there will be an intense battle within a week. Just look at a map of Ukraine and its road connections around Izyum to judge the importance of the location to both sides.
