RE: New York Times reporting that Politico broke the story.

No one of a feminist or liberal persuasion should be surprised about the draft of the SCOTUS decision. During the 2016 run up to the election, the former guy announced many times over that he only nominate pro life justices. There were more than a few Democrats, liberals, and progressives that reminded voters of that and if they didn't like what he said, to vote for HRC.

A lot of Democrats and liberals who didn't believe TFG could win or couldn't find enough energy to overcome their disdain for HRC stayed home. Despite the fact that HRC got more votes than TFG, TFG got more electoral college votes and won the WH and all the marbles that come with the presidency. Less than 100,000 votes made the difference in four states.

So now we live with the consequences of those who only paid lip service to the fact that in order to have a functioning democracy, one has to participate. Complaining about how a minority dictates to the majority is lot like trying to close the door after the horse has left the barn. Elections do indeed have consequences and this particular one demonstrates that an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure.
