All serviced and ready to go...

...I finally got to the 1,000 mile mark on the SF90, so it could be serviced and "unlocked"--I took it in yesterday. Computers are wonderful (NOT). Until the dealer performs the break-in service, and unlocks the computer, the engine will not rev beyond 7,000 rpm and top-speed is limited to 155 mph.

I've never purchased a new Ferrari before, so this is all new (to me). I've always bought 15+ year-old used ones--and they didn't have this kind of tech (the 458 might have, but I bought it used with miles on it).

Warranty is not what you'd expect--it's currently bumper-to-bumper 3 years/unlimited miles, and 7 years scheduled service/unlimited miles. And instead of just the free espresso, biscotti, and profiteroles in the waiting room (for us peons with the old used ones), they take you out to lunch or give you a loaner car for the day. No wonder the damned things cost so much new.

But all good to go now--the full 9,000 rpm and 211 mph top-speed are available--no charge and a free-lunch. Too bad the weather is sucking today, to even try anything out.

"And today is for sale and it's all you can afford. Buy your own admission. The whole things got you bored. Well the Lord chooses the good ones, and the bad ones use the Lord"--a very dear friend for decades Michael Stanley (Gee)--RIP
