Well, the 19th Amendment was a "start"...

...ironically passed in 1919--granting women the right to vote.

The ERA (Equal Rights Amendment) was supposed to further women's rights. First introduced in 1923, it failed to go anywhere.

It was re-introduced in updated form in 1971, and approved by both houses of Congress in 1972, but still failed States' approval by the ratification deadline in 1979 (which was extended to 1982, to no avail).

It was again re-introduced for consideration in the 2010's, and won approval in a number of states, but the issue was moot because the ratification deadline had expired.

No one has had the balls (or vaginas) to start the process all over again, thus far.

"And today is for sale and it's all you can afford. Buy your own admission. The whole things got you bored. Well the Lord chooses the good ones, and the bad ones use the Lord"--a very dear friend for decades Michael Stanley (Gee)--RIP
