...and this was from TV news, so I don't have a link handy.
Basically--people aren't happy, because it's expensive, and getting costlier every day. Many folks have been working from home for at least the last two years, and have adapted. Now their employers are forcing them back into the office, and feeling the pinch.
The "blurb" (TV news segment) featured people that were paying anywhere from 15-40% more to return to their work offices, rather than working from home. Everything--from the cost of commuting, buying lunch, child-care, to "office-appropriate" clothing has gone up. Expenses that they didn't have to deal-with or were dramatically reduced while working from home are back--and at substantially greater expense.
There were a couple people interviewed that had sold one of their family vehicles during the pandemic, and are now struggling to buy a needed replacement--and we all know what the car-market is like, right now. Some had moved (farther away from their work offices), and now face longer commutes and higher gas prices.
It was an interesting piece (at least to me). But some employers are insisting that employees come back and sit at their desk, rather than their own desk at home. The negative economic impact could be potentially significant.
"And today is for sale and it's all you can afford. Buy your own admission. The whole things got you bored. Well the Lord chooses the good ones, and the bad ones use the Lord"--a very dear friend for decades Michael Stanley (Gee)--RIP
