And, well, remember, for 2 years or so there were no durable goods to be had. That has some impact on why people are purchasing now. I'm seeing lots of new cars around lately, remember the shortage? I expect the same for other durables. It took almost a year for us to get a new refrigerator when ours went out in July 2020. There were NONE to be had anywhere, the sales guys just laughed.
And with the Chinese lockdown, it's not over, shortages are likely again.
Most definitely not just a monetary phenomenon.
