Isn't it kinda funny... or just a part of getting old...

...I still like my older gear. I've got a few new/newer pieces to keep-up with technology/connectivity and new sources. I know that (on paper) there's new stuff out there that should blow my stuff out of the water, but I just can't/won't go there.

The only piece of McIntosh gear that I've ever owned is the car audio system in my 2005 Ford GT. It was one of the 4 factory options available on that car--never owned a piece of their home gear. I've heard it (a lot of it), and I respect it, and the reputation, but it's never been my cup 'o tea.

People think my gear is ugly/industrial looking. My main system is all ARC and Krell, and they aren't exactly "pretty". I've been told my speakers look like "Stonehenge". In my audio room, I have Infinity IRS-Vs, Infinity Kappa 9s, Maggie 3.6Rs and Tekton DIs--and blue painter's tape on the floor where they need to be positioned when in use.

I warn people that the Krell amps "bite"--the heat sinks on Class A Krells are like knives and run at temperatures that WILL burn you.

"And today is for sale and it's all you can afford. Buy your own admission. The whole things got you bored. Well the Lord chooses the good ones, and the bad ones use the Lord"--a very dear friend for decades Michael Stanley (Gee)--RIP
