...so that's not happening--unless someone starts getting really desperate--ya never know. We've got a primarily red administration, but the state (overall) is a mix.
What kills me (right now--it'll change by next week--not to worry) is that there is all of this "American Rescue" money that is just sitting at the state and local levels and not being spent.
And now (finally) they are coming up with the most ridiculous projects to fund with that money. Projects that aren't "rescuing" anyone--park beautification, a new bike path, new (decorative) street lamps--total BS. How about the homeless shelters, domestic violence shelters, food banks, soup kitchens, free health clinics, rent or utility assistance? Nah--we want new decorative wrought-iron railings on the pedestrian bridge for the homeless to sleep under.
None of this shit is "rescuing" anyone, nor is it even remotely Covid/pandemic-related.
Even if they hand-out another "stimulus check"--I won't get one anyways--I didn't from the Feds. As soon as we get these refugees SS numbers, I might be able to write them off as dependents for next year--that's about all I might be able to get.
