...to those actually in-need. I have real issues with generational welfare and the liberal approach of just throwing other people's money at "problems" without any solid solutions. I don't have a problem paying the taxes that I am assessed and owe--I do, however, have issues with the "distribution" of taxpayer money.
As I have posted, I have no use for "Robin Hood economics". Tax everyone "fairly"--be it a flat-tax, or better-yet a national sales tax. If you earn money and spend it, you pay the tax. The more you earn/spend, the more you pay. Get rid of the exemptions/deductions/incentives--both personal and corporate--I don't care. No more paying for people that breed and can't afford to feed.
Because of my historic status with this property, I nearly get paid to live here--with all of the exemptions/deductions/incentives. Is it fair?--nope. Did I get any Covid money?--nope. Was that fair?--nope. How many BMWs and Lexus SUVs did I see in the lines at the food-banks during the worst of the pandemic?--far too many. Greedy, opportunistic bastards that deserve to lose everything. And most of them (the free-food distributions) were "drive-up only"--so if you were truly poor/needy/disabled, you couldn't get there to get anything, anyways. Now do you see what's "wrong"?
We (our group of volunteers) did our own food-drives and delivered. We went grocery shopping for our neighbors that couldn't or shouldn't have gone out of their homes during the "dark days" of the pandemic. I had a list of people that I would call before I ventured-out to the stores, and didn't give a shit whether they had the money on-hand to pay--that wasn't important--just that they were OK and had what they needed.
OK--rant over.
