You're not allowed to mention slavery - any history that makes the white man look bad is now called Critical Race Theory the fear-mongering a segment of racists don't want to be taught because it makes them and their ilk look bad.
It's like their total fear of books like "my two moms" that if their kid reads said book it will make their kid "gay" - like all the gay kids who read hundreds of books about straight people made them straight.
Like a lot of things, I suppose it depends on how far you take things. Some people take things too far perhaps for my taste but in the end, does it matter? I don't get why Rightwingers try to ban books - if you don't want to read the book don't read it. If you don't like porn on your computer - have the websites blocked. If you don't want an abortion don't have one.
Just don't tell everyone else how to run their lives based on your religion that I don't believe in. You can believe in all the crazy-ass nonsense you like - just keep the crazy away from me. Granted I am not American but I still like to travel there from time to time and hope the crazy doesn't take over my favourite spots. Granted I tend not to go to the States with the looney-tunes in charge like Texas and Florida.
