I wasn't quite sure what the point was.
Many of the people living in the camper park were real people, not actors.
McDormand's Fern wasn't destitute and had several offers to live at home with family to get herself back on track - she chose not to. Many homeless people have no such options.
There is an appeal to "living small" - so what was the focus here? Do something about the homeless or the homeless are quite happy to live in a camper? And a camper is home. Many retirees buy fifth wheels and campers and travel in them in their retirement - my parents did that - sold their home and visited every province and state their vehicle could get to.
Nomadland like Power of the Dog - seems aimless and both were overlong.
