Higher gasoline prices, depending on how long they last, equal recession.

That alone is going to hurt the car lot down the street, especially if they bought used vehicles at inflated prices from auto auctions.
It's going to hurt an auto industry that thinks a garden-variety Family Truckster is worth $45K. Fuck 'em, it's richly deserved.
But one thing is as sure as sunrise--gas prices will have to go much higher than $4/gal national average before it'll affect the sales of the Ford F-150.
I though the price spike after Katrina would do bring an end to the Nimitz -class pickup truck and the SUV but it didn't even make a dent.
