With at least 200,000 troops, lots of armor, and artillery in place around Ukraine, it seems possible that China may want to take advantage of Russia's obsession with flattening Ukraine. Back in 1860, after the end of the Second Opium War, Russia seized the poet of Haishenwai, now known as Vladivostok. The weakness of an ill trained army and poor logistical support combined with the problems created by distance gives the appearance of an obtainable port. Whether Vladivostok is really needed by China isn't really important. China has never been a true friend of Russia, just using them as a convenient useful tool.
It could lead to nuclear weapon use by both sides in a year where rational decision making hasn't been at the forefront of some major powers.
