Yes it is!--and they know where their bread is buttered (so to speak) especially in recent years with the advent of on-line competition among dealers. You (or I) can purchase a vehicle from three states away and have it delivered to the driveway about as fast as the local dealer can have it prepped and ready for pick-up--and they all know that. It's all about "building relationships" to keep you coming back (and not doing that).
When I took my new-to-me 32 year-old Lamborghini (1990 Diablo) to the dealer to mount the new tires and have a complete/documented inspection, they inquired if I was storing it for the winter. They quoted me for the recommended winterization service, and then "comped" my entire visit. They got it back (to the tune of ~$1200) when I took it back before I stashed it for the winter.
"And today is for sale and it's all you can afford. Buy your own admission. The whole things got you bored. Well the Lord chooses the good ones, and the bad ones use the Lord"--a very dear friend for decades Michael Stanley (Gee)--RIP
