RE: Jay Leno on Why He Refuses to Buy a Ferrari

Having three of them in the family (that I know of) I can tell you they are like eating Lays potato chips. You can't get by with one. Jay is right that their dealers can be assholes, but there's also ways get around them.

I well remember the first one as if it were yesterday. The dealer was a POS on a perfect day, and probably worse on the other days. Art had his check book in his pocket, and the dealer told him he couldn't afford it! (Art could buy the dealership many times over). He back doors the dealer and buys it directly from New York. Wasn't the same color, but he ended up with an extremely rare color. Still owns it after forty plus years, and still drives it. He buys the second one in Italy, and drove it all over the place in Europe. This time it's a mid engine 12 cylinder car that was clocked at over 200mph. He (last I heard) was into his third one. You don't get rid of them; you keep adding to them. Art has a five car brick garage, so he has two empty bays! His other garage holds his daily drivers.

But when you have enough money to buy an NFL team, then you can own the big dog. There probably is a fourth and maybe a fifth in the family (it's old oil money). Just have to looked around to see
