Unhealthy both as a sex object and a role model.
I would disagree on both counts. Granted I am of a younger generation and grew up in places where people don't have a meltdown if a singer has a wardrobe malfunction and a female nipple is shown. Ie; Europe and others are not as sexually repressed as the USA.
A role model - living your life not giving a frak about what they say about you. That's a pretty good place to start
Marilyn was before my time so I only have movies and photos to go by (and they don't hold up for me). She was a better actress than Madonna - no doubt about that, but then Madonna isn't on my list for being an actress. In fact, I find Madonna to be an awful actress. Offhand, I can't think of a worse actress.
The only movie she was in that she was decent, that I have seen, was "A League of Their Own." (I never saw Evita).
