...annual in-state (resident) tuition is ~$15K. Annual non-resident tuition is ~$36K. The university estimates annual room and board at ~$16K. Of course, that doesn't include pizza, beer/booze, drugs, or hookers, so you can factor in those costs, based on your own personal appetite for any or all of those.
So, theoretically, an in-state (resident) student could get a 4-year degree for ~$150K. Non-residents are looking at ~$250K.
There is no reason to own a vehicle to attend OSU. Public transportation in and around campus is excellent, and driving/parking on or near campus is a real PITA.
Since both my wife and I were affiliated with/employed by the university, our girls were able to get their degrees (undergrad, and then their law and medical degrees) for next to nothing. I had purchased several rental properties near campus, so they lived there rent-free.
When my wife passed-away, I took money from her estate and paid-off all of the girls' debt--their homes, cars, CCs, etc., so they started out with a "clean slate". Otherwise, they'd both likely be sitting a couple hundred thousand dollars in debt.
