Of course it's economic. Inevitable with for-profit health system. You only get what you can afford. I've posted it here before but it's worth doing it again: One in three GoFundMe sites created in the US exist so that people can beg money from total strangers in order to pay medical bills.
And you know what? It's not even a partisan issue. About 75% of Republicans want better access to health care. Not access to insurance, that's no solution to anything. Democrats and Republicans are united in favor of health care reform.
Congress is united, too. Against any meaningful reform. As long as money equals speech, nothing will change. Doesn't matter who's in the White House or which party controls Congress.
Since Congress will never act, people have to take better care of themselves. Have a hard boiled egg and an apple for breakfast instead of an Egg McMuffin. Get out and walk. Don't smoke. Don't drink.
