The rule of thumb is to buy from the 'outside' of the store, not the interior.
Nearly anything from the Veggie section is good. Meat in moderation with some fish tossed in.
Salads? With a chicken breast, maybe......Easy on the dressing.
That sort of thing. Overprocessed stuff, like 'white' bread, generally avoided....
One measure ignored MIGHT be Doctor / Patient ratio. Local care is important as a first line.
Living 20 miles from a place which isn't even on the map? Good luck. My parents were in such a
situation when my dad suffered a stroke. Ambulance RT was maybe 45 minutes to an hour......WAY
too long....
