RE: no it's not too much of an effort

Story - this is not directed at you but I have sent several posters several links in the past - they have been met with silence or obfuscation. So why do the work to provide a link showing evidence of something - only to be ignored or someone willing to admit they were wrong.

One of the problems Trump had as president is that he is an awful public speaker often making no sense. There is a humorous video where his speech is compared to Apple's Siri where random words are selected and it makes as much sense as Trump. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jHzv-UDXeC4

Here's the issue - if you listen to what Trump said - I could tell that he was not suggesting that people consume bleach. My problem with the left is they pounce on BS and elevate it to more than it was. So when you are ranting and raving over the nonsense - then when there really IS something to complain about it - the right will ignore it as the left being overly dramatic (as usual). They are doing the same grammar Nazi BS recently over a double negative that Trump said. Once again pouncing on him for bad grammar. In other words, they are criticizing style over substance.

Here is what Trump Actually said on the bleach thing:

"A question that probably some of you are thinking of if you're totally into that world, which I find to be very interesting. So, supposedly we hit the body with a tremendous, whether it's ultraviolet or just very powerful light, and I think you said that hasn't been checked, but you're going to test it. And then I said supposing you brought the light inside the body, which you can do either through the skin or in some other way. (To Bryan) And I think you said you're going to test that, too. Sounds interesting, right?"

He continued.

"And then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning, because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it'd be interesting to check that, so that you're going to have to use medical doctors with, but it sounds interesting to me. So, we'll see, but the whole concept of the light, the way it kills it in one minute. That's pretty powerful." PolitiFact, "In Context: What Donald Trump said about disinfectant, sun and coronavirus," April 24, 2020 ***

Trump supporters can read the above statement or listen to the man say those words and they know what he is saying. I suspect they don't listen all that closely and just key on his personality and just accept that whatever he says about anything is good and right and just.

I have to tell you reading that statement it is very difficult for me to understand. If he was a nice and kind man who cared about all people not just himself and his supporters I think a lot of people on the left would take the time to try and figure out what he was/is trying to say.

It's the same with Biden - the man has a speech impediment and has always been known to make gafs. The left will cut him more slack and the right pounce on him. It's no different in sports. When the other team dirty hits your player - outrage and fists in the air but if your player on your team does something even worse - then it's whataboutism arguments.

Politician A does something heinous. "what about Politician B? Three 3 years ago She/He did the same thing but worse?

No one wants to talk about what current politician A is doing because perhaps they voted for politician A. So instead of ever admitting that their golden saviour is less than perfect ever on anything they always bring up someone or something else.

The other thing to note is that the president isn't the only person in government who makes decisions - there are agencies working on various things that the president (who may not be briefed) even knows about. Some of those things may be good things and some of those may be bad things. Some goofball does some stupid crap in some state unbeknownst to the president and it gets dumped on the president (that happens to both parties).

*** - the problem citing a source like PolitiFact is that some people will only accept the source as being valid if it matches their own personal beliefs. So a person who supports Trump no matter what in all things will accept this PolitiFact fact check because it aligns with their beliefs and then will ignore any and all fact checks if it is remotely negative of Trump. This is a dangerous problem to have. There used to be a joke "how do you know when a politician is lying? When his lips are moving.
