For context, the complete quote:

""Do you really think Pete has no communication with his dept. when not in D.C.?"
Never said that, and again, and more to the point, have we heard from Secretary Buttigieg, have we heard a peep from Deputy Secretary Polly Trottenberg regarding the supply chain issue during this period of time?"

If it wasn't clear to all, the "period of time" was in reference to when Buttigieg was on FMLA paternity leave, "when not in D.C.".


I'm aware of him speaking after he returned to the Department of Transportation. I saw the video of Buttigieg on CNN with Brianna Keilar last week.
