My son's Mazda 3 had a similar little dent between the wheel well and the bumper. Because it's a unibody design, the repair was over $8K and was nearly totalled due to the cost. The problem is that the unibody has to be repaired with new parts to be structurally sound and the body panels are essentially glued and clipped over the unibody like a skin. It's not like an old car where the fender just bolts on.
You can see in the pic where the unibody was crunched and had to be replaced.
