The major problem is storage. I recall one pundit claiming that CA would need a trillion dollars worth of batteries to go 100% renewable. Of course, that estimate is based on the sun shining most of the time. A week of clouds could be a major disaster.
What's the backup plan?
And how much more power do we need to charge all the EVs?
