Some Set-up ideas

If you want a little more comfort on that bike I'd try the following:

1) Try lowering the nose of the saddle in 1mm increments. You might also try moving the saddle a bit forward. If you're sliding forward on the nose you've gone too far.

2) In concert with #1, try raising the stem a few millimeters. Be careful not to pull it up higher than the limit mark on it. That quill stem looks to be 120mm at least. If you could find one a bit shorter even 90mm, you'll be happier.

3) That's a 6 speed Regina freewheel, so not a lot of gears. Not sure what the largest rear sprocket is, but you want one with 26 teeth if you could find one on eBay. A 28 could work, but requires a good rear drop-out alignment and that's the largest that will work with that Campy NR race derailleur and those 52/42 front chain rings. Hills will be easier.

A typical pro bike position of 25 years ago (and the related parts to get there) was quite a bit different than today - more forward and much lower. What I'm suggesting doesn't look as cool either, but you will be able to ride more miles without getting sore.
