RE: Antique Radios

Might be fun to go if we can ever put this plague behind us.

I do own one antique radio, although it's in pieces out in the garage. It's an Atwater Kent model 55 with its original speaker. I'm an admirer of old radios, not a collector. Mrs. Sondek and I had at one time talked about getting a nice old console model, but that never came to fruition, and now we just don't have the floor space for one. My plan is to eventually have that Model 55 restored to at least functioning if not like new condition. I have the perfect spot for it in my listening room.

That auctioneer gets some interesting stuff. His last auction was from the estate of a local clockmaker/watchmaker/collector. Some of the tools were really cool. Miniature lathes, grinders, drill presses, etc. Everything you might need to make a watch from scratch. Things I'd never seen before.
