RE: Secret Healthcare Prices

Our meds market is rigged too.

One of the largest, if not the largest, consumers in the US, Medicare, is legally prohibited from negotiating prices with drug manufacturers. Medicare is technically not a consumer of drugs, but rather the entity that's financially responsible for paying the drug bill, and they're not allowed to dicker over prices.

That sort of an arrangement can only be bought through lobbying, and campaign contributions.
