OTOH, your acquaintances could have chosen the options to get fully vaccinated, worn masks, and practiced some social distancing. Regeneron, which is becoming more commonly available, is administered to people who have already contracted the virus. It's still not available everywhere while the Pfizer, Moderna, and J&J can be found everywhere there's a CVS, Walgreen's, or Walmart, no appointment needed.Fully vaccinated people may experience "breakthrough" Covid but even then incidences of being hospitalized are far fewer for the vaccinated than those who chose to not get vaccinated and did contract the virus.
It makes more sense for many people to get the jab in the first place. The Former Guy has little to do with that choice.
