Used 4WD trucks vary in price geographically. I had a guy working for me that was from Indiana, went to school and worked in AZ. Every time he would go back to Indiana, he would buy a used 4WD truck in Indiana and drive it to AZ and sell it. He said he averaged making $3K to $4K per sale.
I would think CO would also command a high price for 4WD vehicles. I have pretty much the same truck as you do, except it is a 96. I have had a number of people tell me that they would like to get a used Tacoma but are put off by what they are asking for them. I agree that $5K offer is a heck of a lot lower than what I see they are asking for that model. One reason I think, is that the off road clubs around here, Jeeps are #1, Tacoma's #2.
