RE: Think Masks and Jabs are contentious? You ain't seen nuttin' yet!

While you're certainly free to dispute anything I post, you should consider that the Republican Party has made great inroads in the voting public in what many consider rural states by utilizing grievance politics and "elitist" resentment. The strategy is to maintain an adequate number of Senate seats and even when they have a minority of voters, they can act out much bigger than they really are. Wyoming and California are allotted the same number of senators.

For instance, Iowa, Missouri, and Texas are presently dominated by Republican Party majorities in their legislatures but not that long ago there were active Democratic Party organizations that were competitive in those states. I'm not talking about the recent electoral cycles but within a generation, which I consider to be a 20-25 year span. The Democratic Party is now trying to regain some of its stature with the working class but when they lost their way, Reagan Democrats and more recently, Trump Democrats made a difference in the electoral results.

As far as employment with the Federal government goes, I did indeed work for the USPS from NOV 1983 to AUG 2009 as a letter carrier. I was one of those guys that actually did the rain, sleet, snow, heat of day, and dark of night thing. I also served as a Union steward and trustee for NALC Br 499. I have the scars and bad attitude to prove it.
