Masks don't actually prevent you from getting COVID because they aren't effective unless it's an N95 or better mask. What the mask does for infectious persons is to reduce their spread by containing their germs in the mask to some extent.Cloth masks and bandanas are a joke.
Mask mandates essentially protect others from the spreaders. Of course, if the spreader is wearing a mask under his nose, all bets are off.
