As Dave mentioned, 'Don't even think about it!' It's also a lot of hard work along with 25 years of experience which you don't have. This job was about 550 sq ft and took two long days of sanding before the seal coat. Sanding between coats and applying the two finish coats took about 4 hours each.
This is a shot of the transition for the previous refinish job 20+ years ago to the newly finished hall on the top. If anything, there is a very slight orangey tint to the old job which Mike tells me is expected over time. Seriously, I have a hard time picking out which board is the transition line.
