At 912 kWh, your bill in San Diego County would be about $350.
We have 75 solar panels, a 4.2 kW system for our cottage and 12.9 kW for the main house. Unfortunately, pool pumps, computers, network storage systems and other parasites take us to about 1,500 kWh a month on average. With solar, we're paying about $60/month. The cottage typically pays zero on a separate meter.
Currently, we have net metering which gives us credits when we use less than we produce or a bill when we use their power. The bill becomes due once a year after all the charges or credits are totaled up. I suspect that we'll need batteries if net metering that goes away and we are forced into Time Of Use billing.
The image shows a discounted top rate due to COVID-19 which will go back up to 58 cents per kWh.
100% of Your Baseline Allowance 312 kWh
130% of Your Baseline Allowance 406 kWh
400% of Your Baseline Allowance(High Usage Charge) 1248 kWh
There are also Time of Use rates that may be slightly cheaper if you can avoid using power from 4-9PM and run major appliances after 9PM on weekdays and 12AM on weekends. Otherwise, Peak Rates (4-9PM) are like 62 cents.
