We did agree way back then to NEVER let the demise of our relationship effect our children and their lives growing up. As my children became adults, they started to ask questions which we both readily answered without prejudice. My ex and I have remained friendly and we actually enjoy being in each other's company when the situation presents itself (weddings, graduations, etc., etc.) This is as opposed to my Daughter's in-laws who too are divorced and cannnot stand to even set eyes on one another. It's the same situation for my Son and his in-laws. So, I guess we were successful on some front at presenting a good relationship to our children... Both my Daughter and my Son have commented to me recently how happy they are that their parents actually like each other. It's a tough road for anyone facing divorce, but it can have a happy ending on some level....
