...-is that bats aren't particularly susceptible to the form of the virus that infects humans. This doesn't preclude the infectious form of the virus having originated in bats, esp if there was an intermediary organism betw bats and humans. It's possible I misinterpreted that part of the article.
What bothers me most about what's being reported now is that Peter Daszak/EcoHealth Alliance was behind the Lancet/virologist letter diminishing the lab leak theory early on while he simultaneously had an interest in the WIoV bat research program. Lancet should have made this potential conflict clear and the mass media should have vetted the letter and authors to a much higher degree than they did if they did at all. Now that the issue has become hopelessly politicized and China's cooperation is essential, I'm beginning to doubt we'll ever know what really happened.
