RE: Camera advice

It's tough to say. We've used Panasonic Lumix cameras for a long time and have moved up to the GH4s for 4K video. Our choice over Canon was largley because Canon, Nikon and others automatically stop video at about 20 minutes whereas the Panasonics will record until the SD card is full and my wife take hour long videos.

Anyway, I don't see any that have Bluetooth, but most have WiFi including the Panasonics and Canons. Most have USB connections; however, those connections are for downloading the SD card, not for charging. The batteries do last a long time, but you have to buy a second battery unless an extra one comes with the camera.

My short list would be Panasonic LUMIX DC-ZS70K or LX10 or the Canon PowerShot SX740.

The LX10 has a better lens, 24 - 72 mm, f1.4 - f2.8 versus the ZS70K, 24 - 720 mm, f3.3 - f6.4, but the ZS70K has a much bigger telephoto. The LX10 has a larger sensor.

LX10 versus ZS70K

On Canon versus Panasonic, they're largely the same. Panasonic has a Lieca lens. Canon has a bit more zoom and slightly better shutter speeds and is 23 grams lighter.
