Ridiculous ammo management problems, too, unless the owner / collector keeps it to a few calibers.

Also? VERY valid point, above. It is IMPOSSIBLE to safely store these weapons UNLESS each and every one has been rendered Un Fireable in some manner. Either remove the bolt or firiing pin or block the chamber from accepting a round..... In other words? Make 'em all 'wall hangers'.
Children have proven they cannot be trusted to 'leave it alone'......

the alternative is a collection of SAFES, or perhaps simple lockboxes for ALL the firearms. Even at maybe 15 guns per box? You'd need some REAL protection. Such safes (or gun boxes) with fire rating (necessary, IMO) and the capacity for part of the above collection will go a ton and a HALF to start and can go 6000$ to 10,000$ each. I suspect install is a real PIA, too.....
