In Reply to: Propane tank and gas grill stored in attached garage.... posted by MaxwellP on May 16, 2021 at 07:26:29:
If I put the tank on the deck where I grill, that deck is treated lumber and attached to the attached garage. So if the house ever catches fire for whatever reason, wouldn't the fire probably make its way to the deck and BOOM? I realize that leaked propane is also a threat and outdoors placement resolves that. Couldn't I just buy an explosive gas detector and put that in the attached garage with the propane tank?
My grill is a tabletop Cuisinart Portable atop a three tier rolling metal wire cart that I built wood shelves for. On the second shelf I've got some Dayton B652 speakers, a Lepai 2020 amp, and a Chromecast audio. It's very convenient--I just roll the cart out of the garage onto the deck. I want to add a 20lb propane tank--been using the small green canisters--to the 3rd shelf of the cart. That prompts all the questions.
