On the other hand...

I'm somewhat skeptical of EVs. I think we're going to have them shoved down our throats no matter what, but they aren't "green." They have to be manufactured, which uses up resources and causes pollution, and the mining of lithium for the batteries is a horror show, both a human and environmental catastrophe.
IMO, we'd be better off with smaller, lighter, less powerful ICE cars that use less gasoline. A lot less gasoline. Nothing crystalizes the need to conserve like high gas prices.
