In our case we would definitely need the all-wheel drive, as I am too old to screw around with multiple tire changes.

But you lost me... you say it will not have a compact spare - do you mean it will have full size one, or none at all? And what is CAA?

If that is what our AAA is, then we have it, and we use it sometimes, but on that occasion the tow driver was not allowed to take any passengers due to Covid, and nobody would pick up three women on a highway - and of course it was also raining and windy... Neither Uber nor the taxi would pick people on highway. So I had to leave work and drive like hell for 50 minutes, just to make sure they were not stranded there.

This was NOT the first such event with the BMW stupidity. On another occasion I had to drive 1.5 house to where my wife left her M3, with a jack and a spare.
