That is a nice classical design, timeless. You did right.I still have some fancy pieces, but also an old watch given to me by my father - a totally unremarkable soviet production watch, that is not going to leave my collection.
Most of it is sitting in storage... I pretty much just wear one watch, the Sea Dweller, that my wife gave me 40 years ago. I think it was serviced once, keeps ticking and keeping good time, and still looks nearly new.
BTW, my father just celebrated his 104th birthday... his mind and memory are sharp, and I think his hearing is better, than mine. :) Old soldiers...
