RE: Road trip - Chinatown and North Beach, San Francisco

Ahhh, Caffe Trieste, many hours spent there drinking coffee and smoking Sherman's. I remember when California mandated that businesses have a no smoking section, they put a no smoking sign over the little two top near the juke box as if you could get away from the smoke there. They had a great system there, no matter how long the line was you were served in minutes, the first time I tried to get a coffee at Starbucks I couldn't understand why it took so F&%$ing long to get a cappuccino. I really love the last picture with Coppola's building and the TA pyramid. Yep S.F. has had it's ups and downs but not really since the late 70's, I haven't lived there in decades but it seemed to be on an unsustainable path for quite some time, it sure is a great city I'm sure it will bounce back, it's a shame about the ignorant and ugly racism people need to learn to live together.
Great photo essay FR thanks for posting.
