All this BS about police shootings, and...

...what goes through a cop's head? The "motto" of the police community (in general, in some way, phrasing, or form) is "to serve and protect"--THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY that they police.

It's not just a matter of "is my own life in imminent danger?" Reports of someone potentially armed, other types of suspicious behavior, outstanding warrants, etc. MUST be taken seriously.

What happens if this "victim" (aka criminal) carjacks an innocent by-stander, breaks into someone's home and holds them hostage, or just poses a general danger to the community if I "stand-down" and let them run?

If I were a cop, and let a suspect run under any of those circumstances/outcomes, I'd likely be eating my own gun in the very near future--I wouldn't be able to live with myself.

You either want policing and law and order, or you don't. Are there poorly-trained, incompetent/unsuitable, or rogue police officers out there?--CERTAINLY. Do you want the police to let every "runner" go (into/through your neighborhood, or back door) while your family sleeps?--I DON'T.

Ever heard of the "broken-windows" theory? Just let all the "little-shit" slide, and then it grows into "big problems".

If I had my way, I'd be prosecuting and jailing the alleged parents of some of these kids. Please explain to me how your 15 year-old "angel" of a son was in a stolen car, (that matched the description of a vehicle involved in a drive-by shooting) at 2 am with a stolen/unregistered firearm, on a school-night? It happened here--and he was un-armed at the time he was shot by a cop. The guns were still in the car at the time he ran, but the two full spare clips were in his pocket. "Angel", my ass. If you're running from the cops, you are for a REASON--and it isn't an outstanding parking ticket.

Just tired of this "victim" BS...
