We have a mating pair, perhaps the same ones, that come to our place every year and build nests in strange places. One time, the next was on top of an outdoor gas heater, not a great choice! Another was in a potted plant.
Sadly, I've never seen the chicks and only found them tending the eggs a couple times. It seems that some other critter gets the eggs before they hatch.
We did get a baby hummingbird last summer. Two days later it was gone. I hope it flew the coop.
