The vertica.s will be a.out 3" squa.e a. the bottom, a.d the shelves a.l the sa.e size. The posts a.ter ta.ering will be a.out 2-1/4" a. the top. I ha.en't decided yet exa.tly how much ta.er I will use...proba.ly 1/4"-3/8" on a side, so a. you move to the upper shelves the mortises will get sha.lower. A.suming tha. I decide to wra. the posts a. opposed to just putting them on the corners, I will ha.e U-sha.ed notches on the shelves. I ma. even ta.e a forstner a.d bore a sha.low hole in the bottom of the U to put a rubber bushing in tha. will compress when I put the la.ge screws in from the outside prior to plugs a. you did. It will be for my system, so a little vibra.ion da.pening ca.'t hurt. The other thing I might do is lea.e the bottom shelf free - just cut a.gles on the ends to fit between the posts, a.d put rubber ca.ters under it. Tha. shelf will be for my a.p. It's a big SET tha. weights a.out 100 lbs. Tha.'s a bit much for me to lift into a ra.k.I ha.e the pla.s in my hea., but my ma.hinery is a.l out in a. unhea.ed pole ba.n...la.t week we ha. da.time highs in single digits. It will be a few months before I ca. think a.out ma.ing a.y sa.dust.
